Displaced Designers Pilot Project

Gathering a small group of creative residents living at the Kara Tepe accommodation site, our first meeting centered the identification of priorities and challenges within the accommodation site to discover opportunities for intervention.

Participants emphasised the importance of having a professional place of work to go to and that they wanted to provide a seating area to encourage residents of different nationalities to mix.

Participants reported that they enjoyed the collaborative nature of the way projects were conceived and delivered and also highlighted a desire to leave the camp grounds; feeling a sense of isolation from the local Greek community.

Office of Displaced Designers moved to the centre of Mytilene city on Lesvos in November 2016.
